35 Atlanta : The Official Blog

We love doing engagement sessions outside of Atlanta, so we’ve decided to create a destination engagement session package (more info coming soon). We’ve been wanting to do a shoot in Gatlinburg, TN for a looooong time, and Ashleigh & Nick turned out to be the perfect fit for what we had envisioned.

We started out the day with a round of mini-golf followed by go-karts and games in the arcade. Then we went around the mountain for a few traditional engagement photos. We hope you have as much fun looking at them as we had taking them!

Lindsay and Grant were married 9.29.2007 in Lagrange, Georgia at the First Baptist Church on the Square. Lindsay pretty much let us do whatever we wanted with her… and that included sitting her on a sidewalk and putting her in a grimey alley.

With such a willing participant and some awesome lighting conditions that day, we got some amazing pictures! I should mention that Lindsay used to be an Atlanta Hawks dancer so posing in front of the camera comes naturally to her. The reception was held at Oakhurst Farms. I really wish this venue were in Atlanta. It was breathtaking!

Did I mention that Grant is a professional golfer?

Shannon and Sean have to be the most fun couple EVER! They were married on 9.15.2007 at The Piedmont Room in Park Tavern. We had SO much fun with them and their bridal party all day long.

It started with the boys playing pool and air hockey. Then later on, during the pictures of Sean and the groomsmen, they started to do a little do-si-do… right in the middle of my Reservoir Dogs shot! Needless to say we quickly forgot the walking shot and captured the impromptu dance. Shannon was so excited to get married she literally started screaming with joy in the middle of her formals! (Picture of that below.) Then, to top it all off, they let us drag them down to the grafittied cement walls for a few pictures before the reception.

I hope you guys had as much fun as we did!!

Melinda and Cass were married 9.2.2007. (Yes, they were our third wedding that weekend!) We met them at Cass’s sister, Danielle’s wedding. Danielle has been one of our greatest advertisers. I’m pretty sure we get more weddings from her than from any of our ads we pay for!

Anyway, the wedding was held at the beautiful Wolf Mountain Vineyard in Dahlonega. Beautiful settings plus this beautiful and hilariously fun couple made it the perfect end to our long weekend. We look forward to many more weddings with this fun group!

For those of you that live around Atlanta, you have undoubtedly heard of 99X (WNNX 99.7). Well, the insane but very funny crew of The New Morning X decided they were going to have themselves a redneck wedding - complete with a Hound Dog ring bearer and General Lee getaway car.

We had a blast with everyone from 99X and Kim & Ray (the couple) shooting our first ever redneck wedding! We met Marissa when we photographed her sister Corin’s wedding in 2005. We love the Pearson family so we were really excited when Marissa contacted us for her wedding on 9.1.2007.

Marissa and Mark were married at Roswell Presbyterian with a reception at Windermere Golf Club in Cumming. We lived near Windermere when we lived in Cumming but had never shot a reception there so we were surprised at how beautiful it was! Marissa and Mark are such a beautiful couple and we were honored that the family allowed us be a part of the special day once again.

Kim and David were married 8.26.2007 at Mt. Pleasant UMC and Magnolia Hall in Social Circle, GA. Associate Photographers Larry and Jessica shot their wedding. It POURED after their ceremony but that didn’t stop them from taking some fabulous pictures outside of Magnolia Hall. Some of my favorites from their wedding were of Kim walking inside through the rain. Amazing…

My, my, my… how time has flown. To my dedicated blog stalkers… I’m so sorry I haven’t been providing you with your daily 35 Atlanta fix. I promise to be better about it!

In other news, we’ve moved! That was a pain that took up about 2 weeks. You never know how much stuff you have until you have to move it all! We’re booking up SUPER fast for next year. We’re really excited about all the cool places and fun people we get to shoot next year.

Marcia + Scott
We met Marcia and Scott when our associate team, Larry and Jessica, got married. Scott was one of the groomsmen at their wedding. In fact, all of Larry’s groomsmen were also Scott’s groomsmen! It was fun seeing everyone again! Marcia and Scott were married at The Whitlock Inn near Marietta Square on 8.18.2007. (Wow, I’m really behind!)

Ok, ok… I know I’ve been slacking on the blog but we’ve been REALLY busy lately. (Not a bad thing though!) We’re booking up fast for next year and we’ve been super busy with recent weddings. But enough of my babbling… on to pictures!
